OUR HISTORY

Cxmmunity Media (CXM) realized that minority youth, more specifically Black or African American youth over-indexed in video game play at a rate of 84% compared to only 4% of Black or African Americans being represented as working professionals within the video game industry.
Launching the first-ever competitive gaming league for historically black colleges & universities (HBCU) allows us to create equitable opportunities for students of color. Competing students get real-time exposure, scholarships, as well as job & internship opportunities.
In three Seasons, the HBCU Esports League reached over 40 Million viewers. 'The League' has also provided over $1.3 million in scholarships from competitive gameplay opportunities, resulting in full-ride scholarships for some.
The largest barrier to entry in the competitive gaming ecosystem is the lack of access to technology. To compete at a high level, students need access to gaming PCs, monitors, controllers, and proper internet. Through working with our brand partners, we've been able to help fund & build 12 esports labs at HBCUs.
Through the HBCU Esports League, students receive unrivaled VIP experiences to compete, earn scholarships, mentorships, as well as job and internship opportunities. To date, 30+ students have been placed in various internship roles with top video game developers.
The league is working with 40+ HBCUs to increase participation of minorities in the gaming industries through STEAM career development. Join our Cxmmunity and get involved TODAY!
